Fairies

In the hours after midnight,
When I faked a laugh,
That hid my fears inside,
As I yearned for sunrise,
I'd fathom ghosts,
In the dark scores,
And refuse to look one time,
At the fears of mine.
What are you?
So horrifying that comes in the night?
Or so good that realizes me,
Of the peace in sunlight?
Those were the fairies,
Fairies of poetry,
Sent by a distant friend of mine,
Them I misunderstood in fright.
