Crimson Sand
Head resting on the soft mud,
And body covered with crimson dust,
I stretch the fingers of my toes,
To search how far the sand goes…
Red decorated sand,
I shall carve waves as thick as my hand,
Then press them and blow it away,
Although the wind brings it back to me,
Painting my forehead with the land’s red…
The rays of the sun,
Look, it lines my hair in golden,
Shade to rest of my face,
And heat for as long my body runs…
Although I am burning in love,
The love that you’ve conjured me in,
The love that tickled my stomach,
The love that made me forget myself-
And assume the world had only you…
The sky is black of space,
Maybe a few stars in the twinkling race...
Although I am drenched in love,
The love that you rained on me,
The love that abducted me,
The love that caused rains-
even when the clouds left me in disdain…
I long for a hug of yours,
I long for those kisses pour on me,
Amidst these nights that belong,
Half; to you and your lover she…
O! Genie where did you fly?
What prayers can call you back,
Then you can never free yourself,
From the love of mine….
Head resting on the soft mud,
And body covered with crimson dust,
I stretch the fingers of my toes,
To search how far the sand goes…
